The location and order of performance for the Torredembarra and Tarragona events of the 29th Concurs de Castells is now official

Xiquets de Reus will open the Sunday event at TAP, Castellers de Mollet will do so on Saturday, and Castellers de la Sagrada Família, in Torredembarra

Teatre Tarragona hosted the drawing designed to decide the location and order of performance for each of the 3 events of the 29th Concurs de Castells. The event was available live on TAC12, La Xarxa+ and local TV channels, and was led by journalists Carles Cortés and Aina Mallol.

The event welcomed the Consellera de Cultura of the Tarragona city council, Sandra Ramos, Primer Tinent d’Alcalde of the Tarragona city council, Raúl García, and representatives of most of the 42 colles that will enter the Concurs de Castells.

The event had photography as the main theme, with the poster of this year’s edition, by visual artist Ricard Martínez Teruel, as a starting point. It also allowed for various short interviews with prominent photographers from different decades, such as Pere Toda, David Oliete and Emilio Morenatti. The other main theme, music, saw the performance by the prestigious Catalan musician and reference jazz music artist, internationally renowned, Llibert Fortuny.

The balls of the raffle were selected by Max and Mia, 'enxaneta' and 'aixecadora' respectively of the 4d9sf successfully performed by Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls on the Sant Fèlix event, held in Vilafranca del Penedès, which ended in a severe injury of the aixecadora, Mia, fortunately recovered.
